Christopher McQuarrie confirmed to return to Director’s chair for sixth entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise

Following the success of Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation, a sixth entry in the ever popular Mission: Impossible franchise was put in development, and now it has been reported that Christopher McQuarrie will return to the Director’s chair.

Taking to Twitter, McQuarrie posted ‘Mission: Accepted #MI6’ delighting fans the World over!

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation made $680 million at the Worldwide box office and the sixth instalment will see McQuarrie reteam with franchise star Tom Cruise to be the first Director to take on two instalments in the series.

Cruise recently revealed that the sixth instalment in the super spy franchise would shoot next year and see him return as Ethan Hunt.

Cruise and McQuarrie have a long creative history together, they have worked on Bryan Singer’s World War II drama Valkyrie as well as the action-packed Jack Reacher and last year's fantastic sci-fi thriller Edge of Tomorrow.
