Comic genius Jim Carrey wanted for Jeff Wadlow’s Kick-Ass sequel

It has emerged in a genius move in casting news, that Jim Carrey is being courted by Universal Pictures to join the all star cast of Jeff Wadlow's Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.

That's right, ol' rubber face who is best known for his role of Stanley Ipkiss in The Mask is wanted for the role of Justice Forever member Colonel Stars.

Carrey is a self-confessed fan of the 2010 runaway hit directed by Matthew Vaughn, and once appeared on stage in Los Angeles with Conan O'Brien and sang a duet while dressed in a Kick-Ass costume.

Chloe Moretz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage are all set to return for the sequel which will be released next year, they will be joined by the already confirmed new recruits John Leguizamo, Donald Faison and Morris Chestnut.

Carrey was last seen in Mr. Popper's Penguins and will be seen as Steve Gray in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone alongside Olivia Wilde and Steve Carell which will also come to the big screen next year.
