Daniel Radcliffe wept like a child when Harry Potter filming ended

02 July 2011

Ahead of the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, franchise star Daniel Radcliffe has revealed the intense emotion felt on the last day of filming.

Speaking to chatshow legend Larry King, the young British star said "Very, very emotional, I remember I kind of wept like a child on my last day."

Radcliffe also revealed how he stays grounded amid the attention the boy wizard role has received saying "The most important thing is for me to remember, it doesn't matter who would have gotten this part. They would have gotten this attention. When you step out of the car at a premiere and you're hit with that wall of noise and screaming, it's very important for me to remember that they would be screaming for somebody else had he got the part. It's not about me; it's about the franchise and the character, and so that I kind of have to think about a lot just to keep it in perspective and stop myself from getting big headed."

Radcliffe also stated how amazing his time working on Harry Potter has been for the last decade adding "I've had such an amazing time on Potter, and it's been such an extraordinary experience to work with...It's actually the same group of people for 10 years. You develop such close bonds with so many people it feels odd that, although those bonds will still exist in the future, it feels very strange to not be going back to work with them next year."

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is directed by David Yates and features an all star cast including Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes, Bonnie Wright, Helena Bonham Carter, Gary Oldman, Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy, Emma Thompson, Michael Gambon, Tom Felton, Kelly Macdonald, Jason Isaacs, John Hurt, Maggie Smith, Jamie Campbell Bower, Miranda Richardson, Evanna Lynch, David Thewlis, Jim Broadbent, Robbie Coltrane, Clémence Poésy, Timothy Spall, Ciarán Hinds, Warwick Davis, Rade Serbedzija, Peter Mullan, Miriam Margolyes, Julie Walters, Toby Jones and Matthew Lewis.
