Danny Boyle wants Scarlett Johansson and Colin Firth for Trance

After his success with Slumdog Millionaire and 127 hours, Danny Boyle has decided that his next project will be a film called Trance.
Michael Fassbender was rumored for the lead role of the shady leader of a heist team gang who partners with an art gallery assistant who masterminds the crime but then gets amnesia and forgets the location of the stolen portrait. However Fassbender ultimately passed on the role.
Apparently there are now reports that Boyle is courting Oscar-winner Colin Firth to replace Fassbender. He is also apparently looking at Scarlett Johansson to play the hypnotist that the gang hires to get into the assistants memory.
However the shooting schedule and the fact that Boyle will be taking a break to direct the Summer Olympics means that he plans on releasing Trance in March 2013, that's a long wait.
Meanwhile Colin Firth can next be seen in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy about an espionage veteran in the Cold War who is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6's echelons. The film will star Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman and is due for a September the 16th release.
Scarlett Johansson can next be seen in We Bought A Zoo starring Matt Damon and Elle Fanning, out in the UK on the 23rd of December 2011.
