Dating Can Be a Rollercoaster with Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out and Riley’s First Date

To celebrate the release of the AMAZING Inside Out on DVD & Blu-ray out now, Disney•Pixar hosted a first date evening inspired by the special feature short film ‘Riley’s First Date’. Watch the hilarious results and see how the daters experience all the different emotions of dating.

Pixar Animation Studios heads back inside the mind with an all-new short. “Riley’s First Date?” made its world premiere this afternoon at D23 EXPO. Director Josh Cooley, along with “Inside Out” filmmakers Pete Docter (“Up,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and Jonas Rivera (“Up”), introduced the short, which revisits Riley, now 12, who is hanging out with her parents at home when potential trouble comes knocking. Mum and Dad’s Emotions find themselves forced to deal with “Riley’s First Date?”

Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
