DC Comics Are Coming Out Of The Shadows – Justice League: Part 1

02 January 2015

Following last week’s analysis of the eagerly awaited Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot and Directed by the incredible Michelle MacLaren, Shaun Wren returns with an analysis of Zack Snyder's Justice League: Part 1.

Justice League: Part 1 – 17 November, 2017; Part 2 – 14 June, 2019 (US)

Based on the members in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and with Flash and Green Lantern having solo films, this Justice League will be from The New 52. This is when Victor Stone turns into Cyborg and we finally meet Ezra Miller’s Flash and the new Green Lantern – possibly John Stewart or Hal Jordan.

Storywise, it could come from volume one of JL from The New 52 called Origin. If you’ve read the graphic novel or seen the animated film, you’ll be aware just what the story is about: it’s a group of superheroes who come together to fight an alien army lead by Darkseid.

Personally speaking, the better graphic novel to split into two films would be JL: Volume 2 – The Villain's Journey. Even though it is set five years after Origin, it is a more interesting, darker story with a terrifying baddie by the name of Graves.

We also get to meet Green Arrow and Stephen Amell has made it public he would like to be involved in the film and The Villain’s Journey is a good story arc for the Arrow as he has tries to earn his place in the league.

Most likely they'll combine the two, which will make for a fantastic and interesting Justice League film.

However, it is rumoured in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice an iconic villain could be introduced, my guess is that it'll be ‘Doomsday’ who knows how he’ll be introduced one theory is he is a scientific project of Lex Luther’s to bring down the Man of Steel.

I think once we know the synopsis of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and obviously once it’s released everyone will have have an idea of how the Justice League will come together but at the moment it’s all guess work and mystery.
