Bill & Ted Face The Music (2020)

The third film in this much-loved series, joins time travelling duo Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) 29 years later, on one last wacky adventure. They are tasked by the Grim Reaper to write a song that will save the universe and, more importantly, their marriages.

In their usual lazy fashion, the friends turn to their time machine for the answers. Meanwhile, their daughters Thea (Samara Weaving) and Billie (Bridgette Lundy-Paine), painfully aware of their Dad’s consistent inabilities to do, well, anything, take matters into their own hands, assembling a super-group of musicians including Louis Armstrong (Jeremiah Craft) and Jimi Hendrix (DazMann Still). Surely, they can help bring harmony to humanity? This goofy adventure-come-mid-life-crisis combines exactly that we need right now, a lot of laughter, and a touch of time travel.

The Incredibles (2004)

From the creators of Finding Nemo, this feel-good animation follows The Incredibles, a family of superheroes now known as Bob (Craig T. Nelson) and Helen (Holly Hunter) Parr, and their three children, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack as they attempt to disguise their superpowers and live a normal family life in the suburbs. Naturally, the act doesn’t last long as Mr Incredibles’ ironically weak ability to follow the rules results in the family being thrown into unexpected but much craved adventure, to save him from an evil fan-turned villain.

Parenthood (1989)

This cross generational comedy classic follows three adult siblings Gill (Steve Martin), Helen (Dianne Wiest) and Susan (Harley Jane Kozak) as they take on the challenges of parenting. Gil and his wife Karen are parents of three, and with another on the way, Gil is determined to be a better father while juggling the pressures of his job. From stroppy teens to overachieving toddlers, Parenthood is firmly grounded in the realities of family life, served with a large dollop of hilarious over-exaggeration that makes it hard not to crack a smile.

The Croods (2013)

The voices of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds make up a family that we certainly wouldn’t mind being part of… but this prehistoric clan still have their differences. When an earthquake shakes their world, they are forced to search for a new home. But there’s no Right Move in the Croodaceous period and this animated bunch must stick together as they venture across unfamiliar lands to find a new settlement.

Daddy’s Home (2015)

Brad Whitaker (Will Ferrell) is a Radio host, working hard to win over his Stepchildren Megan and Dylan. He’s charming and desperately caring, while biological Father Dusty Mayron (Mark Wahlberg) is reckless, cool and, undeniably, much more fun. They could not be more different, except in their shared desire to be crowned Best Dad. With Dusty returning to visit the family home, the pair goes head-to-head in a testosterone filled series of one-upmanship. But which of these duelling Dads will win the approval of the family?
