BURN BURN BURN is the directorial debut from Chanya Button, starring Laura Carmichael (Downton Abbey), Chloe Pirrie (Shell), Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones) and Jack Farthing (Poldark). In supporting roles are a stellar line up of British comedy talent including Alice Lowe (Sightseers), Hannah Arterton (Walking on Sunshine), Alison Steadman (Shirley Valentine), Julian Rhind-Tutt (Green Wing), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’s Diary), Susan Wokoma (Chewing Gum) and Nigel Planer (The Young Ones). BURN BURN BURN was written by Charlie Covell and produced by Chanya Button, Tim Phillips and Daniel-Konrad Cooper. The soundtrack was created by Candy Says and Marc Canham and will also be available from October 28th.

A Gala screening of BURN BURN BURN will take place at The Screen on the Green in London on October 25th Tickets can be found here. A series of very special regional screenings will be announced shortly, the UK theatrical release will be from October 28th through Verve Pictures.

Dan (Jack Farthing) dispatches his good friends Seph (Laura Carmichael) and Alex (Chloe Pirrie) on an arduous road trip to hit five disparate UK venues. He’ll even accompany them: not so much backseat driver as wedged into the glove compartment, since the prematurely deceased Dan has assigned the bewildered, emotionally freefalling pair to scatter his ashes in places dear to his heart. Meantime, his funny, often painfully frank video missives map altogether rockier relationship terrain. A crackling, life-affirming voyage of self-discovery.

Following its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in 2015. BURN BURN BURN won the Grand Prix at the Odessa Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Umbria Film Festival, and the Audience Award at the Cinema City Festival in Novi Sad (Serbia). In June 2016 it played the Seattle Film Festival for its US Premiere, where it was also in Official Competition. BURN BURN BURN was also in competition at the Toronto In/Out LGBT Festival and at Emden-Norderney and Brussels Film Festivals in 2016. Chanya was nominated for the BIFA Discovery award in 2015, and in April 2016, won the BFI LOCO Film Festival’s ‘Discover Award’ for an outstanding debut feature.

Chanya Button is a director, writer and producer whose diverse work spans film, TV and theatre. BURN BURN BURN marks Chanya’s debut as a feature director and follows three acclaimed short films; Frog/Robot (2011), Fire (FilmLondon/2012) and Alpha:Omega (Pinewood Films/2013), many of which have appeared at international festivals including Toronto Film Festival, Dinard and BFI London Film Festival. The soundtrack was created by Oxford band Candy Says and composer Marc Canham (The Disappearance Of Alice Creed, Scarlett Raven’s ‘The Danger Tree’). Six songs from the band’s 2014 début album Not Kings appear in the film plus two brand new songs and they collaborated closely with Canham to write the rest of the soundtrack, which will be available through Bandcamp on the same day as the film’s release (October 28th).
