Depp and Burton head to Dark Shadows
Johnny Depp is lining up to team with Tim Burton once more on a film version of cult 60s TV show Dark Shadows.
The gothic horror series, which ran from 1966 to 1971, told the soap opera esque story of a vampire dealing with spooky goings on his Maine hometown. Many latter supernatural shows such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer cite Dark Shadows as a major influence.
Burton is directing the film version, while Depp is being lined up to play the vampire Barnabas Collins.
Producer Graham King said, "We've been working on the script a lot, even though Tim's working on Alice in Wonderland."
He added to Sci Fi Wire, "We've been given a script. John August wrote the first screenplay. We're making some changes, but the film's going to be in production September or October of next year."
