Disney want Mark Romanek to bring to life Cinderella
His last big screen outing saw him directing the calibre of Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield in the tearjerker Never Let Me Go and now it has emerged that Disney want Mark Romanek to helm their reimagining of the classic Cinderella story.
The Mouse House are after the director to bring to life the film from a script by The Devil Wears Prada scribe Aline Brosh McKenna which sees the prince set up for a "politically arranged marriage" before falling for Cinders that was snapped up in a reported seven figure deal last year.
Fairytales are all the rage at the moment with Disney also setting up a reimagining of Snow White with The Order of the Seven to go up against rival projects Rupert Sander's Snow White And The Huntsman and Tarsem Singh's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White not to mention their Maleficent the currently in pre production take on the Sleeping Beauty villainess that once had Tim Burton set to direct.
Romanek previously directed the eerie thriller One Hour Photo which starred Hollywood icon Robin Williams and made a name for himself with music videos for Johnny Cash and Nine Inch Nails.
