Dwayne Johnson wanted for Brett Ratner’s Hercules

He can currently be seen on our screens in Brad Peyton's Journey 2: The Mysterious Island as Hank and word is that wrestler turned actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is in talks to star in Brett Ratner's Hercules.

According to Variety, Johnson who returns to cinemas as Roadblock in G.I. Joe: Retaliation on June 22 is wanted for the adaptation of Radical Publishing's comic book miniseries Hercules: The Thracian Wars written by Steve Moore and Cris Bolsin.

The story focuses on a world-weary Hercules who has turned his back on the Olympian gods and can only find solace fighting in battle alongside his six companions.

The group are hired by King Cotys of Thrace to train his army, but begin to suspect the mad monarch's motives.

Johnson is currently filming Ric Roman Waugh's Snitch with Harold Perrineau and will soon report to Michael Bay for Pain and Gain.
