Edge of Tomorrow Director Doug Liman wanted for Lionsgate’s Adaptation of Patrick Ness’ Young Adult trilogy Chaos Walking

13 June 2016

It has been announced that Edge Of Tomorrow Director Doug Liman is attached to the post-apocalyptic thriller Chaos Walking, based on the first book in Patrick Ness' best-selling Young Adult trilogy.

The Hollywood Reporter report that Liman may take the helm of Chaos Walking, a story that takes place in a world where there are no women and all living creatures can hear one another's thoughts in a stream of images, words and sounds called Noise.

With Liman attached to Chaos Walking, it could mean further delays to Channing Tatum’s long in development hell X-Men spin-off Gambit, which had its shoot pushed until later this year whilst the script was reworked, the delay freed Liman up to direct Amazon Studios' first-ever original film The Wall, which tells of a sniper and his spotter who are pinned down behind cover by a legendary sniper.

Chaos Walking was picked by Lionsgate as a way of extending its dominance of the Young Adult genre following the success of The Hunger Games and The Twilight Saga franchises.

Chaos Walking should enter production later this year and previously had Robert Zemeckis in line to Direct.
