Elizabeth Olsen nearly turned her back on acting

01 October 2011

Sundance Film Festival rising star Elizabeth Olsen has revealed that she almost turned her back on her acting dream after experiencing the hell her twin sisters went through at the hands of the paparazzi.

Speaking to Nylon Magazine, the 22 year old cover girl recounts the intense media focus on Mary-Kate when her battle with anorexia was made public in 2004 saying "They turned 18 and what was going on in her life... was all over the news. They would follow us shopping and we would almost get into car accidents because of the paparazzi, and I didn't want to be a part of it. I just thought, 'This is such bulls**t.'"

But she stayed true to her chosen career path and it's already paying off, she was was hailed as Sundance's Breakout Star back in January for her films Silent House and Martha Marcy May Marlene, she was cast alongside Sigourney Weaver and Robert De Niro in Red Lights and will be seen with Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Peace, Love & Understanding. For those of you that haven't seen Martha Marcy May Marlene it comes to UK cinemas on February 3 next year.
