Emma Stone reunites with Steve Carell in Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton’s Battle of the Sexes
Last seen in Cameron Crowe’s Aloha, sought after Oscar nominated Actress Emma Stone has signed on to play tennis legend Billie Jean King in Battle of the Sexes!
Variety report that Stone will reunite with Steve Carell in the sports drama produced by Danny Boyle which focuses on the real-life 1973 tennis five-set match between King and Bobby Riggs and will be directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris.
The hugely-publicised competition took place in Houston, Texas and had a winner-takes-all prize of $100,000. King ended up beating the former Wimbledon champion Riggs in a victory for female players.
Earlier this year, Stone was set to take on the role but she forced to pull out due to scheduling conflicts and acclaimed Actress Brie Larson was touted to take over.
Stone returns to Cinemas alongside Ryan Gosling in Damien Chazelle’s La La Land on July 15 next year.
