Eric Bana nabs Elvis Presley role in Cary Elwes directorial debut

Star Trek villain Eric Bana has reportedly nabbed therole of Hound Dog singer Elvis Presley in upcoming indie drama Elvis & Nixon alongside X-Men Origins: Wolverine villain Danny Huston.

The film based on true events where Elvis travelled to Washington to meet the then president at the White House, following a six-page letter he wrote requesting a visit and suggesting he be made a 'Federal Agent-at-Large' in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.

Huston will play the former US President is the feature directorial debut of The Princess Bride and the Saw franchise star Cary Elwes.

Elwes has written the script with Joey and Hanala Sagal while Bana will co-produce through his Pick Up Truck Pictures company and while it is unclear when Elwes will start shooting but production is set to take place in Shreveport, Louisiana and Los Angeles, California.
