Film Legend Mel Brooks to bring first ever one man show to London

02 March 2015

American film legend Mel Brooks has announced a one-off show in London.

The comedy actor, writer and director will be bringing his one-man show to the West End’s Prince of Wales Theatre on Sunday, March 22.

The show will be a retrospective on his illustrious career, which includes such hits as The Producers and Young Frankenstein among collecting an Emmy, Grammy, Tony and Oscar – one of only twelve people to EGOT. Brooks will muse on his life from childhood to present day interspersed with several musical interludes.

Speaking to the Standard Brooks said he wanted to perform because “that’s what I do” explaining "I’ve always written, but sooner or later the need to perform came out and I was moved to get on a stage and face an audience.

It’s just me trying to remember my life especially the salient points that make the laughs.  One of my rules is if it doesn’t make me laugh it won’t make them laugh. It really has to amuse.”

It is set to be a night not to miss!

Tickets for the show go on sale on Tuesday (March 3).
