New findings from NoDeposit.guide have analysed online interest in Selena Gomez following this Sunday’s Golden Globes. The singer and actress is facing backlash after a video surfaced of the star whispering to close friends Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry.

In the video, Gomez is supposedly explaining that she asked for a picture with Timothée Chalamet, and his suspected girlfriend Kylie Jenner refused. Fans are summarising the conversation as “I asked for a picture with him and she said no.” Taylor gasped, Keleigh then mouthed "with Timothée?" and Selena nodded.

Selena Gomez has lost 21,564 followers since Sunday, 15,203 on Instagram and 6,361 on Twitter, with online interest in the star rising 175.5% over the last seven days. Gomez has since announced that she will be taking a break from social media, according to an Instagram story posted on 9th January.

Meanwhile, Kylie Jenner has gained 36,310 followers since Sunday, 35,976 overnight on Instagram and 334 on Twitter, far outweighing the 2,739 followers lost during this time, with online interest in the business mogul skyrocketing 553.6% this week.

A spokesperson for NoDeposit.guide has commented “The 81st Golden Globes attracted 9.4 million viewers in 2024. So, it’s no surprise to witness the whole world discussing the events of this Sunday. Once again, Selena Gomez has found herself in the centre of an alleged feud with non-other than Kylie Jenner, as fans think the actress and singer was caught whispering conspiratorially to fellow superstar, Taylor Swift. Selena Gomez has since denied gossiping about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, but fans on social media and lip-reading experts continue to dissect the recording, as the singer and actress continues to rapidly lose followers.”
