AMC Networks’ Acorn TV UK Expands Distribution with Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV channels

Following its successful launch in the UK in April, AMC Networks’ Acorn TV is expanding distribution to include Amazon Prime Video Channels and Apple TV channels.

Since launch, the popular streaming service has featured a wide range of programming including original dramas such as the Emmy-nominated mystery series Queens of Mystery and hit French crime drama Balthazar alongside British classics including Foyle’s War box set and George Gently; the Acorn TV commissioned crime drama London Kills; star-studded, contemporary Agatha Christie BBC adaptations of And Then There Were None, Partners in Crime, and The Witness for the Prosecution; and the record-breaking BBC Wales drama Keeping Faith; among many more high-quality dramas and mysteries from Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Ireland.

Distribution Expansion:

• Prime Video Channels – Acorn TV is now available as an add-on subscription for Prime members in the UK, for £4.99 per month after a 30-day free trial via the Prime Video app on smart TVs, mobile, game consoles and through the web. (Acorn TV is already available on Prime Video Channels in the U.S.). 

• Apple TV app – Customers in the UK can now subscribe to Acorn TV directly in the Apple TV app as one of its Apple TV channels

• Acorn TV remains available to subscribe and watch online at acorn.tv with an extended 30-day free trial for a limited time. The service is also available on favourite devices, Roku, Fire TV, Android and Apple mobile, and Apple TV. After the free trial, Acorn TV is £4.99 GPB per month or £49.99 per year.

Coming up on Acorn TV UK:  The exclusive UK Premiere of Acorn TV Original series Dead Still, an Irish period mystery starring Michael Smiley (Luther) on Monday, June 29. Additionally, June features Ashley Jensen’s return in Agatha Raisin, Series 2 (June 1) and Series 3 (beginning June 15) as well as French Agatha Christie adaptations (June 8), BBC One drama Agatha Christie’s Ordeal by Innocence (June 15), Maigret with Michael Gambon (June 15), critically acclaimed American drama Rectify box set (June 22) and the acclaimed BBC Miriam Margolyes sitcom Bucket among a host of series for all tastes.
