Forbes List: Angelina Jolie and Sarah J Parker – Hollywood

Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker have come up top as the highest paid actresses in Hollywood, according to Forbes' yearly list (estimated from May 2010 to May 2011). Jolie earned $30 million thanks to the success of the two films she was in last year: "Salt" which took in a total $300 million and "The Tourist" which took $280 million at box offices.

(p.s.: did you know Salt was originally penned with Tom Cruise in mind?)

Sarah J Parker also made $30 million. I raised an initial eyebrow to that, but then when you think of all the Sex and The City reruns on TV and how much she's making off of that in royalties, it adds up. Plus the 2010 movie version (Sex and The City 2) apparently took in $290 million. Not forgetting her perfume range either. That's got to be earning her a pretty penny.

Next up are Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, both on $28 million, followed by Julia Roberts ($20 million), Kristen Stewart ($20 million) and Katherine Heigl ($19 million).

Cameron Diaz wasn't too far behind at $18 million, Sandra Bullock at $15 million - not bad considering she hasn't been in any film releases in the past year - and Meryl Streep at $10 million - she's been a bit quiet in the past year too so not bad either.

Though the earnings are impressive - really - it would be even more impressive if there was less of a gap between the highest-paid actresses and highest-paid actors. Indeed, no gap at all. How about that, Hollywood?
