02 February 2011

Following our photo coverage of the special fan event of I Am Number Four that took place on Monday night at the Apollo Cinema, Piccadilly Circus. The Fan Carpet have made live two special videos from the event where our presenter Georgina Wahed spoke to the stars of the film Alex Pettyfer and Teresa Palmer and director D.J. Caruso, and got the first reactions from the fans.

Released on February 23, I Am Number Four is an action-packed thriller about an extraordinary young man, John Smith (Alex Pettyfer), who is a fugitive on the run from ruthless enemies sent to destroy him. Changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri (Timothy Olyphant – Die Hard 4.0), he is always the new kid with no ties to his past. In the small Ohio town he now calls home, John encounters unexpected, life-changing events—his first love (Dianna Agron), powerful new abilities and a connection to the others who share his incredible destiny.

When asked about his character, Alex said "I loved the story arc and I loved how he was this reluctant hero." When asked about the stunt work he added "I feel embarrassed to say this but I did pretty much all of them."

When speaking about his leading man Alex Pettyfer, Caruso said "Alex obviously has a really strong, striking and physical look. But the more important thing for me was that he has a real vulnerability. When he came in to read for me, he made this guy really vulnerable, and I love that."

When asked about her role, Teresa Palmer compared it to her role in The Sorcerer's Apprentice saying "I was more the damsel in distress, and I wasn't really directly involved in the action, whereas in this movie al I'm doing is the action!"

When asked about his working relationship with the producer of the film; Steven Spielberg, D.J. Caruso said "It's an ongoing relationship, we met years ago when I directed a television show that Steven produced. We just became friends and film making friends, and I'm very fotunate to have worked on three movies with him now. I'd love to do 'em all, I feel at home when I work with him."
