Georgina Wahed talks to Empire Icon Award winner Garry Oldman at the Jameson Empire Awards 2011
The Grosvenor Hotel Played host to the Jameson Empire Awards 2011 and The Fan Carpet were there and we are delighted to share with you out footage from the event.
Our presenter Georgina Wahed spoke to stars including IT Crowd funny man Chris O'Dowd, the cast of The Inbetweeners, the gorgeous Preeya Kalidas, St. Trinian's siren Talulah Riley, rising stars Will Poulter and Jeremy Irvine, Thor baddie Tom Hiddleston, outspoken television host Jonathon Ross and Empire Icon Award winner Gary Oldman.
When asked about his favourite films, Jonathon Ross could't say enough about Black Swan, he said "Black Swan won me over early on, when they played the whole she's a bit gaga I thought that's always a get out of jail card for directors, but towards the end I thought it was so beautifully staged and so beautifully shot."
He added that he thought Natalie Portman's performance was career defining noting "I thought she always had potential but that was a real career defining moment for Natalie Portman".
Rising star Jeremy Irvine who will be seen later this year in Steven Spielberg's War Horse said "The King's Speech was just phenomenal, I can't remember a year when it was so good for film."
Empire Icon Award winner Gary Oldman said "I'm in two camps really, I love David Fincher, but I'm obviously a fan of Chris Nolan but there are a few I'm rooting for. Colin Firth - go on, give him another one!'
