Golden Globe Nominations Announced

The King's Speech has recieved seven nominations, the only film to achieve such a feat, as the Golden Globe nominees were announced today.
The Fighter and The Social Network came close with six nominations apiece, whilst Black Swan, Inception and The Kids Are All Right are also up for several awards.
There are a few surprises in the announcement, which was released today on the Golden Globe website.
The Best Director category mirrors that of the best picture, with the films Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The King's Speech and The Social Network all vying to claim the prestigious top-prize.
The comedy and musical category is an odd selection; as films such as The Tourist and Red are up for the award; both films you wouldn't go as far as branding a comedy or musical.
Johnny Depp has received two nominations for his roles in The Tourist and Alice In Wonderland, whilst both Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway are also up for awards in their respective categories for their performances in Edward Zwick's latest release Love and Other Drugs.
Meanwhile, Toy Story 3 and Despicable Me are battling it out for the award for Best Animated Feature, amongst other hopefuls, whilst Brit Hugh Laurie is up for best Actor in a Television Series for his role in House.
Lastly, screen legend Robert De Niro has been announced as the recipient of the illustrious Cecil B. DeMille award.
