Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn says full cast will be released nearer to the release

18 September 2013

Guardians of the Galaxy is currently filming in London, and director James Gunn has revealed that the full cast list will not be revealed until closer to the release of the Marvel Studios feature.

The intergalactic superhero feature has been the subject of a series of rumours and announcements that have not been confirmed on the film's IMDB page and talking to ComicBook.com, Gunn said "IMDB is not always correct. Even right now I believe it contains misinformation.

A complete cast list will not be released until closer before release, and we are not currently releasing a list of all the characters in the film.

That said, Stephen Blackehart and my brother Sean are in the film, but my good friend Steve Agee is unfortunately not. Although he would make a great Thanos (not really)."

Gunn added that "pretty much cast all of the supporting roles out of England."

Guardians of the Galaxy hits cinemas on August 1 2014 and features Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Ophelia Lovibond, Michael Rooker, Lee Pace, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, Djimon Hounsou, Gregg Henry, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
