Hayley Atwell set to play Sara in The Return Of Captain Nemo
British hottie Hayley Atwell who was last seen as Peggy Carter in Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger has nabbed a role in high seas adventure The Return Of Captain Nemo.
Atwell will play the role of young heroine Sara in the $10 million 3D sequel to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea directed by Pearry Teo and also has Red Riding star David Morrissey attached to appear as Sara's uncle who is chief adviser to President Ulysses S Grant, who frees Nemo from prison.
Downton Abbey's Hugh Bonneville is already set to star as Nemo in a film that sees him set out on a mission to try and discover what the mysterious “sea monsters” are that are sinking ships up and down the Atlantic Coast.
Producer Amy Krell says she is closing the finance from U.S., Asian and UK investors, and will shoot in Romania. Like 300, The Return of Captain Nemo will be shot entirely on stage using green screen and CGI with Shoreline Entertainment selling internationally.
Atwell will next be seen in Barnaby Southcombe's I, Anna as Emmy alongside Charlotte Rampling and is currently filming Nick Love's The Sweeney with Ray Winstone.
