HBO’s Alternative Christmas Carol

16 December 2010

The Fan Carpet are pleased to make available for you the alternative Christmas Carol, featuring True Blood, Entourage and The Pacific.

True Blood

From the creator of Six Feet Under and the Academy Award® winning writer of American Beauty (Alan Ball) and featuring the sexy, eclectic cast of Academy Award® winning Anna Paquin (The Piano, X-Men), British actor Stephen Moyer (NY-LON), Alexander Skarsgard (Generation Kill) and Ryan Kwanten (Home and Away) TRUE BLOOD is the show that everyone is talking about.

A sensation in the US, winning a Golden Globe in its first season (Anna Paquin, Best Actress) True Blood has already made its (fang) marks on the flesh of British viewers pulling in huge viewers on FX and threatening to glamour even more when it makes its terrestrial debut on Channel 4 in October. Feeding our fascination for vampires, Alan Ball looks at a lascivious world occupied by the dead in the provocative setting of the deep American South.

Vince (Grenier) struggle with his newly found undesirability. After the critical mauling of Medellin in Cannes, he has found himself unemployed and struck from the A-list. With rejections from every studio, it appears that not even the considerable talents and questionable methods of super-agent Ari (Piven) can save him from the Hollywood waste bin. Meanwhile things are looking more positive for Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) who has bagged himself a celebrity girlfriend and Drama (Dillon) who is enjoying unexpected success in TV show ‘Five Towns’ and making outrageous demands from the sanctum of his on-set trailer. Has the time come for Drama to take his much craved place in the spotlight? Discover this and more with the DVD release of TV’s sexiest show.

The Pacific

The heroic ten-part adventure tracks the intertwined real-life journeys of three U.S Marines - Robert Leckie (James Badge Dale), Eugene Sledge (Joe Mazzello) and John Basilone (Jon Seda) - across the vast canvas of the Pacific Theatre during World War II. From the very first scene witness the reality of war with disorientating and historical accuracy, set against a breath-taking and often harrowing backdrop. The series follows these men and their fellow comrades from their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, through the rain forests of Cape Gloucester and the strongholds of Peleliu, across the bloody sands of Iwo Jima and through the horror of Okinawa, and finally to their triumphant but uneasy return home after V-J Day.
