29 August 2011

Lizzie McGuire starlet Hilary Duff has reportedly received a huge payout following her recent axing from the upcoming film project The Story of Bonnie and Clyde where she was due to play the title character of Bonnie Elizabeth Parker.

According to an industry insider via TMZ, Duff had her contract terminated due to her pregnancy announcement, but due to the terms of her play-or-pay contract which stats that if, for any reason, she was let go from the film, she would still be payed $100,000 (£61,000).

When asked about the situation Duff said "I don't wanna give them any more press than they've already gotten off me... I think my baby is a little bit more exciting."

Following her axing it was revealed that her co-star Kevin Zegers was also dropped from the film, it is not yet known who will replace the pair by the likes of In Time beauty Amanda Seyfried and X-Men: First Class' James McAvoy have since been linked to the title roles.

Duff will be seen alongside Charlie Sheen in Rob Margolies' She Wants Me which should appear in cinemas next year.
