Hugh Jackman not ready to hang up the Wolverine claws
Ahead of the release of James Mangold's The Wolverine and while he's portrayed the role of Wolverine in the original X-Men trilogy, a previous solo outing with X-Men Origins: Wolverine and a brief cameo in X-Men: First Class, Hugh Jackman has revealed that he is not yet willing to give up the role.
Which is good news for fans, since I couldn't see anyone else in the role.
Speaking to HitFix, Jackman shared his thoughts on playing Wolverine for the sixth time on the big screen in the latest Marvel adaptation explaining "I had a lot of practice at playing Wolverine, I think the comic book has been around for about 50 years now - around 50. So, that's for a reason. It's not just because he's cool, or because he's a badass.
There's complexity to Wolverine. It's interesting why people keep coming back to him and why people keep coming back to it… I'm not ready to give him up just yet. I love it and probably like him more than ever."
Jackman will return to the role for the seventh time with Bryan Singer's ensemble X-Men: Days of Future Past which opens on July 18 next year.
