I Won with The Fan Carpet: BFI LFF Let Me In Gala Screening

20 October 2010

Our lucky fan Rita Mistry won our competition to see a special BFI gala screening of Let Me In.

Let Me In, is a haunting and provocative thriller written and directed by filmmaker Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) and produced by legendary British horror brand Hammer Films, It is an astonishing coming-of-age story between a young girl and an alienated young boy unlike any other you have seen.  Based on the best-selling Swedish novel Lat den Ratte Komma (Let The Right One In) by John Ajvide Lindqvist, and the highly-acclaimed film of the same name, Let Me In takes audiences straight to the troubled heart of adolescent longing and loneliness.

She went along to the Vue West End on October 15 and here is what she had to say:

Being a huge Twilight fan I had heard really good things about Let Me In and when I saw your competition to win tickets I just had to enter. To my amazement I won! and invited my friend to join me in Leicester Square. As we got to the cinema I was amazed as to how many people were at the screening at 12.30pm on a weekday. I could only see a few empty seats.

The film revolves around two central characters Owen and Abby. Owen is a twelve year old boy whose parents are going through a divorce and is being bullied at school. Owen has no friends until he meets Abby who has a huge secret. Owen and Abby form a friendship that is really sweet until Owen realizes that Abby is a Vampire and events begin to head to a climax that will threaten them both. I don't want to give too much away but I loved Let Me In and would recommend the film to everyone, thank you so much for the opportunity.
