Idris Elba takes the lead in Bastille Day
He can currently be seen as Heimdall in Marvel's Thor: The Dark World and word is that Idris Elba is set take the lead role in the Vendome Pictures and Anonymous Content thriller Bastille Day.
Variety reports that the thriller will see Elba as a US operative who is tasked with making a young American boy disappear to spare the government embarrassment.
The boy is the prime suspect in an attack on the Paris metro, but after several more bombings the agent realises that he may both be innocent and the only way of discovering the real perpetrator.
Elba will next be seen as Nelson Mandela in Justin Chadwick's Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom alongside Naomie Harris when it's released in January.
