16 January 2014

We all know The Minions are coming in their own stand alone film but are you ready for another adventure centred on Gru?

It has been announced that Illumination Entertainment has added a Despicable Me 3 to its slate for release by Universal Pictures in 2017, and what's more, the studio are planning a new How the Grinch Stole Christmas film for release by Universal that same year!

Following the The Lorax, the remake of The Grinch will be the latest of its Dr Seuss adaptations and is reportedly arriving ahead of Illumination's planned Cat in the Hat film.

Last adapted in Jim Carrey's live action version, the new version of The Grinch will be Directed by Pete Candeland and arrive on November 17 2017, which will make it 17 years since a version has been seen on the big screen.

The third instalment of the hit Despicable Me franchise will be released on June 30 2017 after the aforementioned Minions spinoff.

Illumination also have two unannounced films for 2016 on the way, with one set for release during the festive season on December 21.
