Jackie Earle Haley is Alexander Stephens in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln

Oscar nominated Watchmen and A Nightmare on Elm Street actor Jackie Earle Haley has joined the cast of Steven Spielberg's long awaited Abraham Lincoln biopic.
Haley has been cast as Alexander Stephens the vice-president of the Confederate States during the Civil War and a huge opponent of Abraham Lincoln’s plans to abolish slavery.
He even gave an infamous speech about how slavery was the natural condition of those caught up in it and the cornerstone of the Confederacy.
Haley joins an ensemble cast that includes Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Strathairn, Walton Goggins, James Spader, Lee Pace, John Hawkes and Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln.
Haley is currently filming Tim Burton's Dark Shadow and will report to Spielberg's set next month when shooting kicks off from a script by John Logan and Tony Kushner for a late 2012 release.
