Jared Harris reunites with Guy Ritchie for The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

04 September 2013

While he can currently be seen as Hodge in Harald Zwart's The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, it has emerged that Jared Harris is set to reunite with his Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows director Guy Ritchie for The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

What's more, Warner Bros. have released the official synopsis which reads: Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. centres on CIA agent Solo and KGB agent Kuryakin.

Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organisation, which is bent on destabilising the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology.

The duo's only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organisation, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.

While Harris's role has yet to be revealed, he joins Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer who will appear as Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin respectively and Hugh Grant as Waverly.

Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Debicki will also feature in the remake of the 1960s television series, which begins production on September 9.
