Jennifer Lawrence isn’t worried about Twilight or Harry Potter comparisons

19 March 2012

The Hunger Games makes its long awaited debut in cinemas on Friday, and in the run up to this momentous occasion, Jennifer Lawrence who stars as heroine Katniss Everdeen has insisted she isn't worried about the comparisons.

Ever since it was announced that a film adaptation of Suzanne Collins's young adult action novel was on the way, comparisons with The Twilight Saga had been drawn, but Lawrence tells Moviefone "I don't really care! I mean, I get it: they're all beloved books and they're huge best-sellers, and they become a franchise. It's easy to compare them.

I think I'm more relaxed about it, because once you see the movie, you know it's absolutely nothing like Twilight or nothing like Harry Potter, except in size. I'm not worried about it. I like the Twilight movies."

Lawrence recently denied rumours of a feud with Twilight hottie Kristen Stewart, telling Access Hollywood "There were all these, like, fake quotes from me that were actually hilarious, some of them were from my 'pal' and 'sources'. It was hilarious. When I was reading it, I was cracking up."

Lawrence went on to say that she emailed Stewart to make sure she knew that the stories were untrue and added "She wrote me back, and she was like, 'It's fine - welcome to the world where everything you say gets turned into something it's not.

So she understood."

The Hunger Games is already getting rave reviews and features the amazing cast of Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Wes Bentley, Isabelle Fuhrman, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Toby Jones and Donald Sutherland.
