Jim Carrey wanted for another Bruce Almighty

While its Steve Carell starring sequel Evan Almighty failed to live up to its predecessor it looks as though Universal are looking to make another follow up and getting Jim Carrey back as Bruce.

According to reports Universal have entered talks with Hot Tub Time Machine and Yes Man scribes Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel to pen a sequel to the 2003 hit which starred Carey, Jennifer Aniston and Morgan Freeman.

The 2003 original grossed over $480 million worldwide and was the story of Bruce (Carrey) a news reporter who meets God (Freeman) and is given his powers for a week while its sequel which saw Congressman Evan build an ark on the order of God.

Carrey was last seen in Mark Waters' Mr. Popper's Penguins and is gearing up to appear as Steve Haines in Don Scardino's magician comedy Burt Wonderstone with Olivia Wilde and Steve Carell.
