Johnny Depp will do more Pirates of the Caribbean films for his kids

05 October 2011

Hollywood icon Johnny Depp, famed for roles including Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd and is currently filming his role of Barnabas Collins in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows has revealed that he will be happy to reprise his role of Captain Jack Sparrow in future instalments on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Talking to Vanity Fair he said "Basically, if they're going to pay me the stupid money right now, I'm going to take it, I have to. I mean, it's not for me. Do you know what I mean? At this point, it's for my kids."

Depp is also reported to have taken a pay cut for the big screen adaptation of The Lone Ranger where he'll play Tonto in order to reduce the film's predicted budget of $250 million which should mean it'll start production in early 2012.

Depp can next be seen as Paul Kemp opposite Amber Heard in Bruce Robinson's The Rum Diary when it comes to cinemas on November 4.
