Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd reported to be favourites for Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man
With an Ant-Man film coming from Marvel Studios as part of their Phase 3, it has emerged that Don Jon's Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Prince Avalanche's Paul Rudd are the favourites for the role of the superhero.
Variety reports that the actors both meet the desired requirement of a "normal-looking actor" play the character rather than a typical burly action hero, and they'll reportedly meet with Marvel Studios and Wright for a final time, while the possibility of another actor portraying the superhero hasn't been ruled out entirely.
Wright also tweeted a picture of the comic book Ant-Man last night with the question 'Is this the real Ant-Man or an impostor?'
Wright's frequent collaborator who last took the lead in Wright's The World's End, was rumoured for the lead role in the 2015 release, however both Wright and Pegg have denied the rumours.
Wright revealed in July that the script for the long-awaited Marvel film had been completed and while there is no solid casting yet, there will be soon so it can meet its July 31 2015 release date.
