Joseph Kosinski in talks to direct Gran Turismo film

03 March 2015

Tron: Legacy and Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski is in the early stages of negotiations to direct the movie adaptation of the critically acclaimed PlayStation game Gran Turismo.

Plot details for the big screen venture are being kept under wraps; however, back at 2013’s Gamescon lead designer of Gran Turismo, Kazunori Yamauchi, reportedly said that the film would centre on a video game player turned racer.

This, however, might no longer be the case as this was in reference to a first draft written by Alex Tse and It has yet to be confirmed whether Kosinski will continue with it if he comes aboard.

The gaming series is undertaking its feature film transformation under the guidance of Sony’s co-president of production Michael De Luca. Matt Milam, Dana Brunetti, Josh Bratman, DeVon Franklin and Elizabeth Cantillon, all of who will produce as well, will join De Luca.
