Journey 2: The Mysterious Island helmer Brad Peyton set to direct Lobo

22 April 2012

Word is that Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton has been hired by Warner Bros. to helm the big screen adaptation of Lobo.

According to Deadline, Peyton will also rewrite the script and for those of you not familiar with Lobo, in DC Comics lore he is an alien bounty hunter anti-hero who has made various appearances in the comics over the years.

Lobo was a fan favourite in the '90s, however the character has failed to capture a niche audience over the last ten years.

The long gestated film will be produced by Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman and once had British director Guy Ritchie attached, but he opted to make Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. As for Peyton he is also set to make a third instalment in the Journey franchise.
