Keira Knightley still fears fame

15 December 2010

Keira Knightley has confessed in a recent interview with Vogue that she feels that fame has broken her. While promoting The Edge of Love in 2008, she says the pressure of the media attention really got to her and that her co-star Sienna Miller coped with the pressure a lot better, she explained to Vogue

"Sienna was better at coping with it, I think it broke something in me. I was told very early on that if I didn't go out to openings and parties and events I would be left alone. I didn't, and they still didn't leave me alone. I knew it was a good part of the deal in the life I had signed up to, but the fear of it has never left me. I'm still not good at being recognised. I wear scruffy clothes and hats and keep my head well down. I'm sure people must think I'm a complete bitch, but I'm just very shy."

Keira also thinks she infuriated the media because she never disgraced herself in public like most movie stars her age, however, squeaky clean or not, Keira's acting talent will no doubt continue to keep her in the lime light for years to come.

Keira can next be seen in Never Let Me Go starring Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield out in UK cinema's in February 2011.
