Kimberley Marren talks to Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde and Joseph Kosinski at the London Premiere of Tron: Legacy

08 December 2010

The Fan Carpet were lucky enough to attend the London premiere of Tron: Legacy the eagerly anticipated follow up to the cult classic Tron. The film sees Jeff Bridges return to the role of Kevin Flynn and Clu. Joining Mr. Bridges on the blue carpet were first time director Joseph Kosinski, the gorgeous Olivia Wilde and Concept Designer Daniel Simon.

Tron: Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world thats unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his fathers disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years.

Our presenter Kimberley Marren returns to the freezing winter conditions of London's Leicester Square to talk to Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde, Joseph Kosinski, Daniel Simon and a whole host of talent including McFly, Jason Derulo and Shayne Ward on the electrifying blue carpet.

When asked about taking on such a mammoth of a project, first time director Joseph Kosinski said "Disney have been playing around with the idea for about ten years now, then three years ago Sean Bailey approached me and asked me what my approach would be to the movie. I wanted to embrace the style and the look of the first film, but update it for twenty ten."

Alison Goldfrapp commented that Daft Punk are a fantastic match for the film saying "I think it's good that they've got some good, young people scoring the film, Jason Derulo added "I think they fit the film perfectly, it's good that they got to score the whole thing; you don't see that a lot."

When asked what it was like returning to the role of Kevin Flynn, Jeff Bridges said "I was certainly eager to find out what they were offering, I was curious about the script; I didn't want to be onboard if the story was no good and the director, those were all important things for me. Disney were wise, they held off until they had the right script and director."

When asked about her costume, the gorgeous Olivia Wilde said "They are made of rubber and neoprene with lamps running through them. It was a challenge but they looked so cool."
