Kristen Wiig to executive produce black comedy Imogene

On the back of the success of Bridesmaids, writer and actress Kristen Wiig will turn executive producer on her new passion project, a black comedy called Imogene for Maven Pictures.
According to Maven Pictures it is "the story of a moderately successful New York playwright who stages a fake suicide attempt to win back her ex-boyfriend, only to end up being forced into the custody of her gambling-addicted mother."
Wiig is also on board to play the title character of Imogene, with directing team Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini on directing duties.
Maven Pictures is the new company from Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler who will produce the film with Alix Madigan of Anonymous Content.
To this day, Bridesmaids has earned a whopping $207 million worldwide and made Kristen Wiig a regular on US comedy show Saturday Night Live a household name.
Wiig's next film will be the Jennifer Westfeldt written and directed comedy Friends with Kids which reunites Wiig with her Bridesmaids leading men Chris O'Dowd and Jon Hamm.
