07 January 2016

Sought after Actress Emma Stone famed for Easy A and Superbad is being lined up to star as iconic Disney villain Cruella de Vil in the forthcoming origin story from the House of Mouse!

The Hollywood Reporter report that Cruella has been written by Kelly Marcel with Disney planning to shoot later this year.

Should Stone sign on, she follows in the footsteps of Betty Lou Gerson who voiced the character in Disney’s Animated 101 Dalmatians and Susanne Blakeslee who lent her voice to 101 Dalmations II: Patch's London Adventure, Glenn Close in the live action 101 Dalmatians in 1996 and its sequel in 2000 and Victoria Smurfit who portrays Cruella on ABC’s Once Upon a Time and Wendy Raquel Robinson from Disney’s Descendants.

Stone returns to Cinemas alongside Ryan Gosling in Damien Chazelle’s La La Land on July 15.
