Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg is proud of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

05 December 2011

With the release of War Horse just around the corner, legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg has spoken out about his pride in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

He previously said that he was against the use of aliens in the fourth Indiana Jones adventure and reveals that he does not regret his involvement in the film, saying that he particularly enjoyed the fact that the iconic hero had a son, played by Shia LaBeouf, and tells Entertainment Weekly "I'm really proud of the movie, I loved bringing Marion back, I love the fact that Indy now has a son. It's a family action film, and I love that whole conceit.

It's public that George and I and Harrison all had a clash about genre and concept. But I've always told George's stories. George wrote all four stories for all four movies.

I'll fight for things I don't believe, but ultimately, if George wants to bring interdimensional beings into Crystal Skull, I will do the best job I possibly can to acquit George's ideas and make him proud."

The three time Oscar winning director is currently filming his long awaited Abraham Lincoln biopic Lincoln with Daniel Day-Lewis in the titular role and is gearing up to shoot Robopocalypse which is a sci-fi story set in the aftermath of a robot uprising.
