Legendary star of film, stage and television Angela Lansbury to be honoured with Volta award at Audi Dublin International Film Festival
With a career spanning almost seventy five years, over sixty motion pictures, five Tony Awards, star of the longest-running detective drama series in TV history, the Audi Dublin International Film Festival is thrilled to welcome Angela Lansbury to Dublin this February.

A Broadway luminary with 5 Tonys to her credit and 6 Golden Globe awards (four for her most famous TV role as Jessica Fletcher in Murder She Wrote), Ms. Lansbury will participate in an unmissable public interview hosted by Aedín Gormley from RTÉ’s Movies and Musicals at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, where she will also be presented with the Festival Tribute Award, the Volta, by President Michael D Higgins. The annual Volta Awards are named after Ireland's first dedicated cinema, the Volta Picture Theatre on Mary Street in Dublin, which was opened on 20th December 1909 by an enterprising young novelist named James Joyce. Previous recipients of the Volta Awards include Dame Julie Andrews, Al Pacino, Daniel Day Lewis, Kristin Scott Thomas, Martin Sheen, Paolo Sorrentino and Thierry Frémaux.
The 2016 Audi Dublin International Film Festival takes place from 18th – 28th February. The full lineup for the Festival programme will be launched at the end of January to include exciting themed strands, along with a host of special guests and special events.
Season tickets are now available for the Festival, offering free entrance to all screenings, exclusive galas and after-show parties during the Festival, as well as a sneak preview of the 2016 programme with advance booking. Season tickets are currently available for purchase at the early-bird price of €175 (full price €200), until January 5th 2016.

Audi Dublin International Film Festival
Founded in 2003, the Dublin International Film Festival – formerly known as the Jameson Dublin International Festival – continues to lead the way in the presentation of outstanding Irish and International film.
Over the past thirteen years the Festival has hosted over 500 major guests, ranging from Irish mega stars Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Cillian Murphy, Daniel Day Lewis, U2 to Hollywood A-listers Al Pacino, Mark Wahlberg, Glenn Close, Joss Whedon, Danny De Vito and Richard Dreyfuss.
