Leonardo DiCaprio snaps up rights to Legacy of Secrecy

21 November 2010

Iconic Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio famed for such films as Titanic, Romeo + Juliet, Catch Me If You Can and more recently Shutter Island and the cinematic juggernaut Inception has reported snapped up the rights to Legacy of Secrecy written by Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann which is one likely explanation for the JFK assassination in 1963 in Dallas.

The book researches the idea that Mob boss Carlos Marcello was the man who ordered the hit, having confessed as such to confidant Jack Van Laningham. Unfortunately for Marcello, Van Laningham was a deep-cover informant for the FBI. Waldron and Hartmann dug through declassified files and also found that many of Marcello’s close associates and family members were arrested in the wake of the assassination.

It is reported that DiCaprio will co star in the film as Van Laningham, and will serve as producer under his Appian Way production company banner. Warner Bros. who will distribute the film, are reportedly looking to release the finished film in 2013 which marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination.
