Luke Goss to star in new British Sci-Fi drama feature THE LAST BOY from filmmaker Perry Bhandal and Kirlian Pictures

British director, writer & producer Perry Bhandal has announced he will begin filming his new feature THE LAST BOY in the UK this October. The film will star US based actor and former Bros drummer Luke Goss as they team up again following the global success of the action thriller Interview with a Hitman.Cinematographer Richard Swingle has also joined the team and is co-producing alongside Perry.

As the world ends, a young boy’s dying mother sends him on a quest to find the place that grants wishes. “It's a premise I have wanted to explore for a long time, about how our human relationships change when there is no-one left and ask if we as a species are fit custodians of our precious planet,” explains Perry, “I also wanted to present a different kind of apocalypse - not one of death and destruction but of simple loss on a huge scale and how that affects individuals and their reasons for being as they navigate a world they no longer recognise. I am delighted Richard Swingle has joined us as his unique shooting style will echo my vision for the film.”

THE LAST BOY, to be filmed in West Sussex, is the second feature for writer and director Perry. His first, the action thriller Interview with a Hitman, filmed in the UK and Romania, achieved critical acclaim and was likened by critics to work by filmmakers Stanley Kubrick (‘the opening ten minutes are Kubrickian’) and Michael Mann (‘we are reminded of a low-budget version of Michael Mann’s better work’). The film was a solid commercial success and continues to sell worldwide.

Luke Goss, who will play an army sniper in this new world, and whose previous film credits include Blade II, Deathrace 2, Deathrace inferno, Hellboy II The Golden Army, War Pigs and Interview with a Hitman said "Perry Bhandal is a friend and a director I greatly enjoy working with. After the success of our last movie together Interview With a Hitman,it was an easy decision to make in regards to collaborating again. The Last Boy is a multifaceted story that gives us an opportunity to give the fans of our last movie something different. I also get to shoot in the UK which is something I don't get to do often, so all round I'm greatly looking forward to start shooting in October."

• Perry Bhandal was born on January 12, 1968 in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, England. He is a director, writer and producer, known for the action thriller Interview with a Hitman shot in Newcastle and Bucharest in 2012. He holds two Master of Arts Degrees and is a graduate of London's Met Film School.
