Mark Millar says the Kick-Ass sequel will shoot with American Jesus in the Summer

20 February 2012

Graphic novel sequels seem to be at the top of movie news right now, and as such word is that the long awaited sequel to Kick-Ass will begin filming this summer.

Creator Mark Millar tells The Daily Record that the superhero sequel will be shot alongside his film centred on the second coming of Jesus entitled American Jesus revealing

"It is the reverse of the Omen, which is about a kid who finds out he is the anti-Christ. This is a kid who finds out he is Jesus Christ, we shoot Kick-Ass 2 and American Jesus this summer."

While it was thought that the future of Kick-Ass was sketchy after news broke that Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman were unable t commit to the sequel, word is that an unnamed new writing and directing team have been appointed.

There's no word on the cast yet, but it is expected that Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse will reprise their roles.
