Marvel set to bring The Inhumans to the big screen

13 August 2014

Following the staggering success of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, it is being reported that Marvel Studios are moving forward with the long rumoured Inhumans adaptation.

Created by Marvel Comics legends Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, The Inhumans are a race of super powered beings living in seclusion under the rule of their royal family and sources have told Collider that the company is moving ahead with a script written by Joe Robert Cole.

It is believed that Vin Diesel (who voices Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy) is up for a role in The Inhumans and in Marvel Comics lore, the best known members include the silent king Black Bolt, his wife Medusa, the teleporting dog Lockjaw and the Human Torch's sometime lover Crystal.

Word is that Marvel intend to follow the same route as they did with Guardians of the Galaxy, whereby they used the existing script as the outline of the film but allowing its eventual director to tweak it and add their own flavour and it is thought that The Inhumans will be taking on the role of mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
