Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige says Ant-Man will be announced by the end of the year

24 October 2013

Ant-Man is heading to cinemas with Marvel's Phase Three, and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed that casting announcements are expected before the end of the year and also revealed that the superhero outing will be a "heist movie".

Speaking to IGN, Feige explained "Edgar Wright is working on just sort of tweaking the drafts with Joe Cornish, who now is a big director in his own right of course, and we're crewing up and prepping, and there should be some cast announcements probably before the end of the year.

I think it will be very Edgar Wright in tone, but I think it's a disservice to Edgar to just say, 'Oh, it's a comedy', as we're often asked about.

He wants to do something very unique with it. In the way that Alan did something very unique in Thor: The Dark World. And Edgar, early on going back years and years when he first was pitching it, pitched it as much as a heist movie as anything else."

Paul Rudd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have been rumoured to be the frontrunners for the coveted role of Ant-Man.
