Matthew McConaughey joins Steven Soderbergh

Matthew McConaughey who last graced the screen in The Lincoln Lawyer has joined the cast of Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming stripper flick Magic Mike.
Magic Mike will see McConaughey as Dallas, a former dancer and owner of the Xquisite Club, where young Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer perform and tells the story of Tatum’s early experiences as a teenage stripper before making it big in Hollywood.
Tatum plays the titular Mike while Pettyfer’s character is modelled on a young Channing Tatum.
McConaughey has been a busy boy of late, he's currently filming thriller The Paperboy under the direction of Lee Daniels, and will be seen in Richard Linklater’s crime caper Bernie with funnyman Jack Black and William Friedkin’s drama Killer Joe with Thomas Haden Church.
He is also set to star in Jeff Nichols’ upcoming film Mud where he'll take on the role of a charismatic fugitive.
While there's no news when filming will begin on Magic Mike, Soderbergh’s new cinematic release is the Matt Damon starring Contagion which comes to cinemas in October.
